Woking Conservatives have selected Sonia Elbaraka and Chitra Rana as their candidates to represent Goldsworth East & West respectively in the by-elections to be held on 8th October.
Sonia Elbaraka will be standing for Goldsworth East. Sonia has lived in Woking since childhood and is an active member of the local community. She works for a local kitchen design company and will support the local businesses and voluntary organisations that she believes are the lifeblood of the area.
"I am delighted to be standing as the Conservative candidate to represent my local community", said Sonia. "I will work hard in Goldsworth East to protect and improve our area and the quality of life of everyone who lives and works here."
Chitra Rana lives in Goldsworth West and recently retired from a successful career in the British Army as a Gurka Officer, commanding troops both on the frontline and on ceremonial duties at Buckingham Palace. Chitra is currently the Chairman of the British Gurkha Veterans Society, Woking, and a member of the Knaphill Branch of the British Legion.
Chitra said: "I am passionate about our local community and after serving our country for 40 years, would relish the opportunity to serve local residents in Goldsworth West as their local Councillor."
