Horsell under the new boundaries of 2016 includes most of the historic parish of St Mary, formed out of Horsell West and Horsell East.
Beryl Hunwicks, Colin Kemp and Anne Murray were decisively elected in 2016 and have been able to do a great deal for the village, including transform the area around the Village Hall and Scout Hut.
Cllr Murray has decided not to seek re-election in 2018 and Horsell Conservatives selected Nancy Martin to stand as the candidate in 2018. Nancy is from Horsell and attended the Village School and Junior School. She is a committed campaigner and is determined to champion local causes.
She is married to Ben, a pastor at the Coign Church in Woking. Having worked in Parliament as a researcher and now in public affairs, Nancy has seen first-hand the impact political decisions have on people’s lives and the importance of local accountibility.
Nancy said: “If I am elected, I will work to be your accessible, available Councillor with a strong local voice for residents in Woking Borough Council. We are so lucky to have a great Horsell team with Beryl Hunwicks and Colin Kemp. I would be joining a team that has achieved a great deal for the village and the ward.
“But there is always more to do and I would like to work with our hardworking team to ensure that Horsell remains a fantastic place to live.”
