During the last elections, the Woking Liberal Democrats made a series of promises they knew they couldn't keep. They told residents they would limit the heights of buildings in the Town Centre, despite knowing they would not be able to deliver. This application, refused by the Lib Dem, Labour and Independent coalition, without the required planning reasons to do so. This has resulted in the application going through on appeal, without the previously proposed affordable housing provision and potentially costing the Council a fortune in costs.
This was all part of their strategy to get themselves elected, and now we're seeing the results. A new 28 storey development in Woking Town Centre with no affordable provision, that we can do NOTHING about. This is what their "playing politics" results in. They have no plan for Woking and only come out with soundbites they believe will get them elected. Don't believe them, don't trust them.
